An afternoon of fusion of fashion, art and culture enlivened by the Arab dancer Sahra Ardah, the piano of the great Pablo Sebastián on the piano, and a moment of opera by the soprano María Rodriguez.

Calzados FANJUL completed the afternoon with a prize won in the long-awaited raffle held at each event of Spanish Arab Magazine.

The protagonists:

Javier Quintela: A icon in his native Galicia, Javier has trained over more than 10 years at the most influential fashion brands on the international scene such as Inditex, Caramelo or Carolina Herrera. In 2010 he decided to make his passion for haute couture his work and his way of life, creating the Atelier in the heart of his hometown, La Corunna, in Spain.

Craftmanship, detail, Javier personalizes each piece according to the wearer, is his way of working putting closeness and heart in an increasingly standardized world. In the words of Javier himself:

"I love fashion, art, nature, architecture, andand natural elegance. I live life with passion and find inspiration every day in everything around me.

In each of my designs I try to capture that passion for my work, for beauty, for getting the best out of myself, but above all of each woman."

María LaMadrid; is a recently created- May 2020- firm specializing in luxury lingerie, in Spain. They identified a niche for a need for beautiful and original lingerie, like that worn “once upon a time”, and not seen or found anymore.  

The collection is inspired by a classic design, crafted with choice fabric, lace, hand embroidered to offer a new and exclusive air, adapting the classic to these times.

Inspired by the romantic. A return to those fabrics and lace of our great-grandmothers, a disappearing tradition, for a woman to feel truly elegant, at all times.

Handmade in Spain, Maria LaMadrid also relies on Liberty Fabrics, the classic quality and creativity Spain  is known for which prevails all over the brand.

Rokaya Al Fawri is a reference in her native country, the Sultanate of Oman. Rokaya is known for her work caring for and respecting the Omani ornamental and handmade tradition, which varies according to the regions of the Sultanate.  

Each garment in the collection is a work of art depicting each region of the Sultanate's culture with traditional details. Hand-embroidered silks, with rhinestones, bright ornamentation, and gold touches, to draw a classic silhouette with a modern touch, for an international woman.

The young French designer, Nicolas Besson, came specially from Paris and presented a collection of tailor-cut and quality fabrics inspired by the Hollywood films of the sixties, the years of American glamour with that touch of Matisse, the painter.  Elegant, timeless, handcrafted pieces, clean cuts without forgetting the current trends. Metallic, linen, silk, a luxury tailoring worked with advanced and sustainable techniques

His natural talent was born in his childhood, learning and perfecting his technique with some of the best world-renowned fashion brands: Balmain, Yamamomo, Carven, and McQueen... In 2016, he opened his own atelier, under the brand name NICOLAS BESSON.

La omaní, Rokaya Al Fawri; los españoles Javier Quintela, y Maria LaMadrid y venido especialmente de Paris, Nicolas Bessón, presentaron sus propuestas en el Real Casino de Madrid, en Madrid.

Acompañaron a S.A.R. Doña Margarita, la editora y presidenta del Spanish Arab Magazine, Soumaya Akbib, la presidenta de honor de la Fundación Art & Culture Without Borders, S.A.R. la Princesa Beatriz de Orleans, Cristina Serra, Marquesa de Murrieta, Daniel San Martín Viscasillas.  Yasa Al-Hajri, Primera Secretaria de la Embajada de Omán en España, Roberta Azzopardi, mujer del Embajador de Chipre, Marcos Margot Puente, Esther Saez  de Nenito Jiménez.  Acompañaron José Manuel González Moreno, vicepresidente del Casino de Madrid, Marcos Arbeloa Losada, Miguel Ángel Hernando, Tesorero y Secretaria respectivamente del Real Casino que ha organizado el evento en colaboración con el Spanish Arab Magazine.

Javier Quintela: Antes de comenzar su aventura en solitario, el diseñador gallego ha recorrido una trayectoria de más de 10 años en las empresas más influyentes del panorama internacional tales como Inditex, Caramelo o Carolina Herrera. En 2010 decide hacer de su pasión por la alta costura su trabajo y su forma de vida, creando el Atelier en el corazón de su ciudad natal, La Coruña.

María LaMadrid; firma de reciente creación especializada en lencería de lujo. Nace en Mayo de 2020, con la inquietud que teníamos de crear lencería diferente, original, y que no estuviera visto.

La colección se inspira en el diseño de cada prenda, elección de telas y encajes, aportando un aire nuevo y exclusivo, adaptando lo clásico a nuestra época. 

Inspirado en lo romántico, volviendo a esas telas y encajes de nuestras bisabuelas, que se estaban perdiendo. Una mujer se sienta siempre elegante en todo momento.

Lencería hecha a mano, y en España, Aunque también nos hemos basado en la campiña inglesa con telas Liberty, la marca España prevalece en todo momento.

Rokaya Al Fawri es una referente en su país natal, el Sultanato de Omán, conocida por su trabajo cuidando y respetando la tradición ornamental y hecho a mano omaní, que varía según las regiones del imanato.

Cada prenda de la colección es una obra de arte que representa cada región de la cultura del Sultanato con detalles típicos. Las sedas bordadas a mano, con pedrería, ornamentación brillante, dorados, para dibujar una silueta clásica con un toque moderno, para una mujer internacional.

El joven diseñador francés, Nicolás Besson, venido especialmente de París, presentó una colección de cortes sastres y telas de calidad inspirado en los años sesenta, los años del glamour americano con un toque de pintor Matisse.  Elegante, atemporal, piezas artesanales, limpios en los cortes sin olvidar las tendencias actuales. Metalizados, lino, seda, una sastrería de lujo trabajados con técnicas avanzadas y sostenibles

Su talento natural que nace en su infancia, y aprendió con alguna de las mejores marcas de moda: Balmain, Yamamomo, Carven y McQueen… En 2016, abre su propio atelier, bajo la marca NICOLAS BESSON.

After a break due to the restrictions imposed by Covid19, the Spanish Arab magazine organized an Arab and Spanish fashion and accessories show - Spanish Arab Fashion- at the Real Casino in Madrid, Spain.

This event aims to recover the success of the previous editions of the Spanish Arab Fashion organized in its day by the NGO Art & Culture without Borders chaired by Soumaya Akbib, president of the Spanish Arab Magazine and organizer of this event.

On this occasion, the designers Siham el Habti, SH Collection, Ambatik, Santiago Prada Joyas, Akhoub Couture, Chique Mon Aire, and Youssef Chreiba presented their collections.

The Spanish Arab magazine, born in 2020, is a tool to establish relationships of trust and create opportunities for exchange and cultural visibility. Fashion knows no borders and a clear example of this is this meeting in which Arab and European cultures meet, in order to seek integration and promote freedom and cultural diversity.

MON AIR

Mon Air is a Spanish fashion atelier with a vintage air evoking past times, without forgetting the present. They give soul to each design and give it shape, giving it a name that does not go unnoticed in time. They dress for special occasions: Communions, Ceremonies, Weddings and special celebrations. Their models are versatile, have a double personality, which changes depending on the accessories with which it is combined.

SH COLLECTION

SH Collection was born in 2011 in Qatar, by Shaikha Alhamadi.

SANTIAGO PRADA

Jewelry specializing in gemology, artisanal and avant-garde techniques. Prada firmly believes in the value of signature jewelry, unique pieces or limited series, always using noble metals, natural gems, and manual application of finishes, such as enameling on glass.

At the afternoon show, Santiago Prada’s jewels and accessories were accompanied by dresses fom the Galician designer Míriam Guerreiro,  designed and embroidered exclusively for Spanish Arab Magazine.

The shoes worn by the models are by Mariela Madrid, an atelier of made-to-measure luxury footwear.

Spanish Arab Magazine presented an award to Wafa Ben Khalifa, of an art work by Franck Sastre and Asún González, world-renowned Spanish artists.

Next, a tea snack was served with champagne, English sandwiches, and Moroccan sweets. The well-known Spanish pianist and presenter, Pablo Sebastián entertained the afternoon, at the piano with typical music from Madrid. The renowned dancer, Sahra Ardah, offered a spectacular belly dance.

A raffle was presented that included a trip to Doha, courtesy of Spanish Arab Magazine, Mariela'sshoes; three jewels by Santiago Prada and a bag by Bulgari, and a traditional tunic, courtesy of  Youssef Chreiba.

Among the guests were members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Spain, HRH Princess Beatrice of Orleans, HRH Princess Ana Maria Al Senusi of Libya, as well as Maria José Cantudo and Laila Rahaoui Damas.

El Spanish Arab magazine, nace en 2020, como herramienta para establecer relaciones de confianza y crear oportunidades de intercambio y visibilidad cultural. La moda no conoce de fronteras y un claro ejemplo de ello es este encuentro en el que se reúnen las culturas árabe y europea, con el fin de buscar la integración y promocionar la libertad y la diversidad cultural.

MON AIR:

A continuación, se sirvío una merienda té con champán, sandwiches a la inglesa y dulces árabes. Pablo Sebastián amenizo la tarde, al piano con música típicamente madrileña. La reconocida bailarina, Sahra Ardah, ofreció un espectacular baile del vientre.

Se presentó un sorteo que incluía un viaje a Doha, cortesía de Spanish Arab Magazine, zapatos de Mariela; tres joyas de Santiago Prada y un bolso de Bulgari, y una túnica tradicional, cortesía de Youssef Chreiba.  

Entre los invitados se encontraban miembros de cuerpo diplomático acreditado en España, S.A.R. la Princesa Beatriz de Orleans, S.A.R. la Princesa Ana Maria Al Senusi de Libia, así como Maria José Cantudo y Laila Rahaoui Damas.

Art & Culture without Borders Foundation and Spain's top ecological fashion brand, ECOALF organized a worldwide art and photography contest for children and adolescents during the time of confinement. Art is a universal language. Creating artwork is a non-threatening activity that allows children to tackle difficult problems in a creative way.

ACWB received paintings, drawings and photography from Spain, Mexico, Peru, UAE, Qatar, Chile, India, Turkey, Morocco, China, Brazil, the Netherlands, Germany, Pakistan, the Republic of Oman, USA, New Zealand and Syria. The jury previously selected 150 finalists and from these 150 works they will choose 30 from each category.The contest was divided into three age groups: 5 to 10, 10-15 and 15-18 years.

The works were photographed and sent by email before May 15, 2020. The finalist works were selected by our jury made up of our collaborating artists and originals sent by post to the address of our Foundation. The winners of each age group will receive an award from our sponsor ECOALF and all works will be exhibited and sold to raise funds for Covid -19 affected families worldwide through other NGOs with whom we will be collaborating.

Due to COVID-19, the awards ceremony has been cancelled.

La nueva publicación Spanish Arab magazine está muy vinculada al "Spanish Arab Fashion”, un evento anual organizado por la Fundación Art & Culture without Borders, de la que es presidenta Soumaya Akbib. Las princesas Hend Faisal Al Qassemi y Mina Lhegari, la actriz egipcia Rajae El Jedawi, Beatriz de Orleans o Carmen Reviriego, pasando por Tamara Rojo (directora del English National Ballet), el televisivo José Manuel Parada, o la princesa Noor de Jordania fueron algunas de las personalidades que coincidieron en el Palacio de Fernán Núñez, de Madrid, en la maratoniana jornada de desfiles de la segunda edición de la Spanish-Arab Fashion (#SAF19) que se ha celebrado este fin de semana en Madrid.

La pasarela celebrada en Madrid, giró en torno a la mujer como un homenaje desde la cultura árabe al 8-M, concluyó con la entrega de premios a 12 mujeres españolas y del mundo islámico, todo ello como un reconocimiento de la entidad organizadora, la Art & Culture Without Borders (ACWB) para destacar la labor y solidaridad de las galardonadas. Entre ellas, Cruz Sánchez de Lara, con un emotivo discurso en pro de la mujer, o la princesa Hend Faisal Al Qassemi, que recibió el galardón de manos de Noor de Jordania.

La jornada comenzó́ inaugurando el festival la Embajadora ante la presencia de miembros de cuerpo diplomático acreditado en España (Egipto, Saudí́ Arabia, Costa Rica, Somalia, Senegal entre otros) y miembros de diferentes casas reales ( Francia, Polonia, Emiratos Árabes Unidos, Kuwait y Saudí́ Arabia) algo muy inusual en la capital y que demostró́ el atractivo de la iniciativa de la Fundación Art & Culture without Borders.

Hind Nourssine por ser una referencia para las mujeres jóvenes de los E.A.U como empresaria de éxito en una sociedad patriarcal. Entrega el premio S.A:R. Princesa Noor de Jordania.

Victoria Prego por una extensa carrera periodística de mas de cuatro décadas y ser una de las voces mas eruditas de la transición española. Recoge el premio en su nombre María Jesús García. Entrega el premio Petra Mateos

Laila Aziz por divulgar la cultura del reino de Marruecos en el mundo con gran éxito a través de sus exitosas colecciones de moda con su marca KAYAT. Entrega el premio Ceren Cerciler, fundadora de INSIDE COUNSELS y Vice-presidenta del Bosphurus Summit.

Cruz Sanchez de Lara por su defensa de los Derechos Humanos, así como la promoción de los mismos y la realización de acciones para contribuir a la erradicación de sus vulneraciones y a la condena de sus violaciones en su calidad de Presidente de la Fundación Thribune. Entrega el premio, la presidente de Art & Culture without Borders, Soumaya Akhib

Carmen Reviriego por impulsar los premios ibero-americanos de mecenazgo y La Suerte de Dar, dos iniciativas que congregan a los grandes lideres empresariales y principales instituciones iberoamericanas en torno al compromiso social con el arte desde la Fundación Callia, que preside. Entrega el premio la Excelentísima Señora Embajadora del reino de Marruecos en España, Karima Benyaich.

Tamara Rojo por ser la gran embajadora del reino de España como directora del English National Ballet así como su bailarina estrella. Recoge el premio en su nombre Miriam Fernández.

Queenie Altamirano por promover lazos culturales y económicos entre Panamá y los países de la Unión Europea durante mas de tres décadas como Embajadora para Asuntos Económicos de Panamá ante la U.E. Entrega el premio S.A.R El Príncipe de Vidin.

Rajae Radawi, una de las actrices mas importantes del mundo árabe, por su compromiso con la causa de los niños que sufren discapacidades en su país natal, Egipto. Entrega el premio la Marquesa de Paul.

Montserrat Caballe ( a titulo posthumo) en reconocimiento a haber sido una de las mejores sopranos de todos los tiempos siendo una española universal, defensora de la monarquía y de la unidad de España. Recoge el premio en representación de su hija, Montserrat Marti, la Condesa de Ruiz de Castilla. Entrega el premio Entrega el premio la Excelentísima Señora Embajadora del reino de Marruecos en España, Karima Benyaich.

Cristina Macaya por su trabajo para mejorar las condiciones de las mujeres encarceladas con sus hijos, que implico la construcción de una unidad especial para madres en Mallorca y su implicación en Proyecto Hombre, una organización dedicada a la prevención y tratamiento de la drogo-dependencia. Entrega el premio la Excelentísima Señora Embajadora del reino de Marruecos en España, Karima Benyaich

La misión de "Art & Culture without Borders es la celebración de nuestra común humanidad a través del arte y la cultura como nexo de unión entre los pueblos cooperando con otras organizaciones civiles y instituciones gubernamentales.

II edition of the Spanish Arab Fashion organized by the NGO "Art & Culture without Borders"

Coinciding with the International Women's Day, the II edition of Spanish Arab Fashion organized by the NGO Art & Culture without Borders, presided by Soumaya Akhib and hosted by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Spain, Karima Benyaich, was held at the emblematic Fernán Núñez Palace in Madrid. Morocco being the guest country at the marathon of Spanish Arab Fashion. (#SAF19). The princesses Hend Faisal Al Qassemi and Mina Lhegari, the Egyptian actress, Rajae El Jedawi, Beatriz de Orleans or Carmen Reviriego, Tamara Rojo (director of the English National Ballet), the television presenter, José Manuel Parada, Princess Noor of Jordan were just a few of the personalities present at the event. The day began with Madame Ambassador opening the festival in the presence of members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Spain (Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Costa Rica, Somalia, Senegal, among others) and members of different royal houses (France, Poland, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia) giving a special attractiveness to the initiative of the Art & Culture without Borders Foundation.

The event concluded with an awards ceremony to 12 Spanish and Arab women by the NGO, Art & Culture Without Borders (ACWB), organizers of the event, in recognition of their work and commitment towards a better understanding of the two worlds. "The event aims to promote cultural freedom and diversity, strengthening trust and reconciliation between countries that, unfortunately, live really complicated times", explained Soumaya Akbib, president and founder of the NGO, Art & Culture Without Borders. " the world of fashion and textile, a fundamental link to bringing together both cultures."

“Fashion knows no borders, and has no passport”. This event where Arab and European cultures meet, in order to seek integration and promote freedom and cultural diversity, makes true these words by Princess Hend Al Qassemi.

La ONG Art & Culture without Borders, presidida por Soumaya Akhib presentó las obras de excelente calidad ayer en CONSENTINO City Madrid, (Paseo de la Castellana, 116). Las obras fueron expuestas y puestas a la venta ante un público numeroso. Entre los invitados estaban la Princesa Carla de Bulgaria, la Condesa de Cerrajeria, Laddona Bentley, Mariely Usera, Karin Menhert, Miguel Mas y los artistas Paulina Parra y Kico Camacho, cuyos obras se subastaron para recuadar fondos otras talleres de pintura. 

Bodegas Marqués de Riscal sirvieron los vinos.
