Spain is renowned for its gourmet food, including cheese, often considered one of its best-kept secrets. Every year, Grupo Gourmets unveils the top Spanish cheeses at the 14th #GourmetQuesos held during the 37th Salón de Gourmets, the most prestigious cheese championship in Spain.
The 14th GourmetQuesos, The Best Spanish Cheeses Championship 2024, showcased the finest cheeses from Spain's cheese sector. After an initial selection process in March based on criteria such as rind, color, texture, aroma, flavor, aftertaste, and persistence, only the top 100 kinds of cheese—five in each category—advanced to the final round. A panel of 40 judges (63 in the semi-final) recognized and awarded the best cheeses across all categories.
This year, a new category promoted by ICEX, the 'Cheese from Spain Awards,' was introduced at the #GourmetQuesos.

Awards were presented for first, second, and third place in each of the 20 competition categories, with 880 cheeses participating in total at the 37th edition of Salón Gourmets (SG).
