Exhibition of Spanish Artists in Qatar

Organized by Art and Culture Without Borders Foundation with the support and collaboration of the cultural authorities of the State of Qatar and the Embassy of Spain in Qatar.

The Exhibition opened on January 20, 2020 at the Katara Cultural Village, Doha.

The project is a collective exhibition of Spanish artists with the aim of making known to art lovers and collectors in the State of Qatar. Each of the artists will exhibit five pieces of their work. The exhibition and sale will go on for ten days. Works not sold may remain in a Doha gallery for later sale.

As Honorary President of the Art and Culture Foundation, Princess Beatrice of Orleans, attended the opening, accompanied by Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti, general director of Katara Cultural Village, Soumaya Akbib, President of the Art and Culture without Borders Foundation, Charles Markeaton-Mundy, Goodwill Ambassador of the Foundation and the Hon. Mrs. Belén Alfaro, ambassador of Spain in Qatar.

The Katara Cultural Village Foundation is an exceptional project of hope for human interactions through art and cultural exchange, made possible thanks to the inspired vision and wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Father Emir of the State of Qatar keeping pace with the emerging global culture that emphasizes the importance of diversity in human development.

EXPOSICIÓN INTERNACIONAL DE PINTORES ESPAÑOLES EN QATAR

Catorce pintores españoles han sido invitados a participar en una exposición en Doha, Qatar. El evento se inauguró el 20 de enero de 2020 en en Katara Cultural Village, un espectacular espacio concebido para albergar todos los eventos culturales del país que se ha hecho realidad gracias a Su Alteza Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Padre Emir del Estado de Qatar.

Se han seleccionado obras muy representativas de artistas para participar en un evento organizado por la Fundación Art and Culture Without Borders, y en el que habrá piezas de catorce artistas españoles. El proyecto es una exposición colectiva de artistas españoles con el objetivo de dar a conocer a los amantes del arte y coleccionistas en el Estado de Qatar.

El Katara Cultural Village Foundation se ha creado para la promoción de cultura con vistas al projecto 2030 del Estado de Qatar. Katara Cultural Village es el proyecto cultural más grande y multidimensional; un lugar donde las personas se unen para experimentar las culturas del mundo. Hermosos teatros, salas de conciertos, galerías de exhibición y vanguardia, Katara Cultural Village tiene como objetivo convertirse en un líder mundial en eventos culturales. En línea con los objetivos de la Visión Nacional de Qatar 2030, Katara sirve como guardiana del patrimonio y las tradiciones de Qatar y se esfuerza por crear conciencia sobre la importancia de cada cultura y civilización, como festivales internacionales, regionales y locales a través de espectáculos de talleres y exposiciones.

La Art and Culture Without Borders Foundation se dedica a unir los pueblos a través de la cultura y hace hincapié en que “la cultura y el arte son un leguaje universal que siempre debe unirnos y nunca separarnos, y así fomentar un mundo mucho más justo”. A la inauguración oficial asistirán Su Alteza Real la Princesa Beatriz de Orleans, presidenta de Honor de la Fundación Art and Culture Without Borders, el Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti, director general de Katara Cultural Village, Soumaya Akbib, Presidenta de la Fundación Art & Culture without Borders; Charles Markeaton-Mundy, Embajador de Buena Voluntad de la Fundación y la Excma. Sra. Belén Alfaro, embajadora de España en Qatar.

Blanca Cuesta

The artist, Blanca Cuesta, will be participating in this international exhibition in Doha, Qatar, with a select coleection of her works. In addition to exhibitions held at the David Bardía Art Gallery, in Madrid, Blanca Cuesta has participated in several international exhibitions in Miami and Monaco. Her last individual exhibition ‘Rock Art’ a great reception, consolidating her as one of the most relevant artists of Contemporary Art. The most intense strokes and the cleanest canvases provide a very aesthetic balance to her work.

Además de sus exposiciones nacionales en la Galería de Arte David Bardía, Blanca Cuesta ha participado en varias muestras internacionales en Miami y Mónaco.Su última exposición individual ‘Rock Art’ tuvo una gran acogida, consolidándose como una de las artistas más relevantes del Arte Contemporáneo. Los trazos más intensos y los lienzos más limpios aportaban un gran equilibrio estético a las obras.

Romy Querol

Romy Querol cursó estudios de Ciencias de la Información, Publicidad, y de Comunicación Audiovisual en la Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, de Iluminación y Técnica fotográfica en el Training Center de México DF, y de fotografía digital en el School of Visual Arts en Nueva York.

Romy Querol studied journalism and publicity in Barcelona, lighting and photographic technique at the Training Center in Mexico City, and digital photography at the School of Visual Arts in New York.
